Soak Up the Fun, Not the Sunburn: Sun Safety at SuperCamps
Long summer days, outdoor games and new friendships are what SuperCamps is all about. But while the fun is turned up, so is the temperature—which means keeping children safe in the sun is something we take seriously.
We want every child to enjoy their time at camp feeling comfortable, confident and well cared for. That is why sun safety is built into everything we do.
How we keep campers protected
At SuperCamps, your child’s wellbeing always comes first. Here are just a few of the ways we help them stay sun safe throughout the day:
✅ Plenty of shade and cool-down breaks
We make sure that every camp includes shaded areas and indoor spaces for when the sun is at its strongest. Whether it is a break between games or a quiet moment after lunch, there are always chances to rest and recharge.
✅ Regular sunscreen reminders
Children are encouraged to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. If you pack a labelled bottle of their own, our team will help prompt them to top up—especially during peak sun hours.
✅ Sun smart clothing
We recommend that children wear a wide brimmed hat and light, breathable clothing that covers their shoulders. These small details make a big difference to comfort and protection.
✅ Hydration is a priority
We build in water breaks between activities to help children stay hydrated and focused. Please pack a refillable water bottle with their name on it to keep things easy for them.
What you can do before drop off
A few simple steps in the morning can help your child get the most out of their day while staying sun safe:
-
Apply high SPF sunscreen before arriving
-
Pack a clearly labelled sun cream for them to reapply
-
Include a sun hat and sunglasses if needed
-
Dress them in light coloured, breathable clothing
-
Pack a full water bottle and remind them to drink regularly
It is all part of the fun
Sun safety is not just about rules—it is about making sure every child has the chance to enjoy camp to the fullest. When they are protected and prepared, they are free to focus on the important stuff: water fights, team games, crafts, zorbing ball races and all the new memories being made.
