A quick update on Ofsted inspections at SuperCamps

02 October 2026

You may notice that some of our latest SuperCamps Ofsted inspection reports look a little different to ones you’ve seen before.

That’s because Ofsted introduced a new inspection framework in November 2025, changing the way registered childcare providers are assessed and how the results are shared with parents.

What has changed?

Previously, Ofsted inspections of this type of childcare resulted in an overall Met or Not Met outcome.

Under the new system, inspection reports provide more detail, giving parents a clearer picture of different areas of the childcare their child receives.

What does Ofsted assess?

For holiday and out-of-school childcare such as SuperCamps, Ofsted looks at four key areas:

  • Behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines
  • Children’s welfare and wellbeing
  • Inclusion
  • Leadership and governance

How are the different areas graded?

Each area receives one of five grades:

  • Exceptional
  • Strong standard
  • Expected standard
  • Needs attention
  • Urgent improvement

Safeguarding is assessed separately and continues to be judged as either Met or Not Met.

What does this mean for parents?

There’s nothing you need to do. The change simply means that newer Ofsted reports contain more detailed information than reports produced under the previous framework.

This is why you may see different formats when looking at Ofsted reports for different SuperCamps venues.
