Sports Instructor
The Sports Instructor will be a recognised expert with specific skills in the coaching or teaching of sports. The Sports Instructor will typically be expected to run Super Camps sports sessions across the age ranges and will also be expected to act as a Crew Leader and be responsible for registering Crews during the whole week. Additionally, you may be required to help and support other Instructors in planning and running sports sessions; whilst ensuring sports equipment and areas are suitable and ready for use.Description:
- Adhere to processes and procedures whilst the children in your care continually have a fun, stimulating and safe time
- Plan and deliver activities with structure and enthusiasm; encouraging maximum participation
- Manage the exchange of all relevant information on the children in the crew
- Take an active part during the meet and greet with the parents/guardians at the start and end of the day
- Manage the equipment and inventory to ensure that the multi-activity programme can be delivered at all times throughout the duration of the Camp
- Undertake additional duties such as supervision of children during non-activity time and cleaning
As a Sports Instructor our aim would be to utilise you for your strengths and experiences a majority of the time you are working on camp. There may be occasions when we ask you to assist in other areas, on these rare occasions we require flexibility and co-operation at all times.
Requirements:
Desirable
- Qualified or studying towards a sports/coaching, and/or teaching/childcare qualification Sports coaching qualification
- Previous experience working with children
Essential
- Previous sports coaching experience (ideally to children)
- Enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills
- Energetic and outgoing with good use of initiative
- Flexible, team player willing to take on various tasks as required
Selection and Appointment process:
If your application form is short listed you will be contacted by our HR team who will speak to you further about your experiences. If selected you will be required to complete an on-line test based on our online training programme; following this you will be required to attend:- A Central Training and Selection Day (Based in Oxford, London or Birmingham)
If you perform well on this day you will have your appointment confirmed and will be required to attend:
- A Site Specific Training and Set-up day (Located at school you will be working at) – paid training day
Pay: £236.80 per week for 18 to 21 year olds rising to £284.40 per week for 22 year olds and over
Hours: 8am – 5.15pm / 8.30am – 5.45pm / 8.45am – 6.00pm (Monday – Friday)
Temporary Contract (School holidays – part seasons considered)
Additionally…
All sites require a Paediatric First Aid trained person. This individual will be appointed to take on this responsibility on top of one of our Instructor roles (an additional £25 per week will be paid if you take on this responsibility). If you are qualified please express this on your application form and verify the expiry date
If you do not have a relevant First Aid qualification but would like to gain one, Super Camps run a number of 2 day Paediatric First Aid Training courses so please express your interest. (Super Camps will subsidise a majority of this, but you will not be paid the extra £25 per week whilst working for us)
