Specialist Instructor (Lifeguards and Trampoline Coaches)
The Specialist Instructor will be a recognised expert with specific skills and qualifications as either a Lifeguard (NPLQ or NaRS) and/or a Trampoline Coach (BG). They will also be expected to act as an Activity Instructor when not involved in specialist instruction and will be responsible for registering Crews during the whole week. The Specialist Instructor will work with a variety of ages so will need to adapt their specialist skills accordingly.Description of responsibilities:
- Adhere to processes and procedures whilst ensuring the children in your care continually have a fun, stimulating and safe time (within both your specialist area and general activities)
- Take responsibility for the set-up and continual safety of your specialist area ensuring you report any issues
- Plan and deliver activities with structure and enthusiasm; encouraging maximum participation
- Manage the exchange of all relevant information on the children in the crew
- Take an active part during the meet and greet with the parents/guardians at the start and end of the day
- Manage the equipment and inventory to ensure that the multi-activity programme can be delivered at all times throughout the duration of the Camp
- Undertake additional duties such as supervision of children during non-activity time and cleaning
Requirements:
Desirable
- Qualified or studying towards a sports/coaching, creative, teaching/childcare qualification
- Previous experience working with children
Essential
- Relevant Lifeguard or Trampoline Coach qualification (Lifeguard – NPLQ/NaRS and Trampoline Coach - BG) with experience in specialist area
- Enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills
- Energetic and outgoing with good use of initiative
- Flexible, team player willing to take on various tasks as required
Selection and Appointment process:
If your application form is short listed you will be contacted by our HR team who will speak to you further about your experiences. If selected you will be required to complete an on-line test based on our online training programme; following this you will be required to attend:- A Central Training and Selection Day (Based in Oxford, London or Birmingham)
If you perform well on this day you will have your appointment confirmed and will be required to attend:
- A Site Specific Training and Set-up day (Located at school you will be working at) – paid training day
Pay: £275 - £325 per week
Hours: 8am – 5.15pm / 8.30am – 5.45pm / 8.45am – 6.00pm (Monday – Friday)
Temporary Contract (School holidays – part seasons considered)
